Runs at 3.6 V against the AA’s 1.5 V. That 2.1 V gap can damage a device built for the AA.
The 14500 is rechargeable and needs a charger matched to its chemistry.

What batteries are equivalent to the AA?

Can I use a AAA instead of a AA?
