Cat5e vs Cat6
Cat5e carries gigabit comfortably; Cat6 doubles the frequency and reaches 10 Gbps over runs up to about 55 m.
If your internet is a gigabit or slower and the run is a normal household length, Cat5e already does everything you need — replacing it will not make your connection faster. Cat6 matters when you want 10 gigabit between machines on your own network, and it manages that over runs up to about 55 metres. For new cable going into a wall, Cat6 is worth the small extra cost simply because pulling it out again is the expensive part.

It will not speed up your internet
The cable is almost never the limit on a home connection. If the line into the building is 500 Mbps, Cat5e and Cat6 deliver exactly the same result. Upgrading helps only where two devices on your own network need to move data faster than a gigabit.
The 55 metre figure
Cat6 reaches 10 Gbps over about 55 metres in good conditions, less where cables are bundled tightly and interfere with each other. Beyond that it drops back to gigabit. Cat6a is the answer when you need 10 Gbps at full distance.
In-wall is the real decision
The cable is a small fraction of what it costs to run one through a building. When wiring something you will not open again, take the higher category — that logic, not the specification, is why Cat6 is the sensible default now.
Check before you swap. Batteries with similar dimensions are not always interchangeable. Always verify voltage, chemistry and the requirements printed in your device manual before fitting a replacement.
